Celebrate 375

We Thrive at 375. First Congregational Church of Stamford, the founding church of the city of Stamford, is celebrating 375 years of service. When you reach 375 and are still going strong, only a yearlong celebration will do, and we know just the ways to do it!

Our celebration, “We Thrive at 375”, kicks-off on March 21.

• Sunday Morning Worship service at 10:30: Rev. Dr. Davida Foy Crabtree, Conference Minister for the Connecticut Conference, United Church of Christ, will be our guest preacher.
• Procession at 1:00: From Veteran’s Plaza (across from Stamford Town Hall), traveling along Atlantic Street/Bedford Street to the church’s current location on Walton Place.
• Afternoon Worship service at 5:30: Our Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Cari Jackson, will be preaching “Treasures for Your Soul.”

At FCC Stamford, it continues to be important to us to care for the range of needs in our city. Our birthday gift is to continue to share our gift of giving with the community! This year, we are increasing our hands-on community service. Some projects include:

FCC Stamford brings diverse communities together by partnering with local businesses, other religious and community organizations, and individual neighbors across Stamford. We strive to address the needs of individuals and neighborhoods that are often underserved or overlooked. We are especially seeking volunteers from local businesses to help retrofit homes of older Stamfordites. To volunteer, click here.

Along with the Bedford Street Promenade sponsored by Downtown Special Services District in June, we are providing outdoor music concerts and tours of the church’s stained glass windows and other art.

Other events to be offered by the church include:

• Music concerts from early music to jazz to gospel
• Lecture series on topics ranging from the history of Stamford to
“SpiritualReformations: Then and Now”
• Art show featuring local artists
