About Missions: We oversee special mission offerings. In these offerings whatever is collected is sent to that particular mission. These offerings are:

We collect for the UCC missions Neighbors in Need (October) and Veterans of the Cross (December). (During September you will be learning about Neighbors in Need.)

We also oversee Church World Service mission offerings which the UCC shares with many other denominations. These missions are Blanket Sunday (January) and One Great Hour of Sharing (March).

Finally, each year the Board of Missions selects specific missions for the Christmas Offering and the Easter Offering. In 2004 we selected Dafur for the Christmas Offering and in 2003 we gave that offering to Person-to-Person in Darien for camperships for inner-city children. Our most recent Easter Offering was given to a family being helped locally by New Neighborhoods, Inc.

We are currently supporting the following: We also support denominational programs including the Connecticut Conference and world-wide ministries, and allocate money to students from our Post High School and Theological Scholarship Funds.
