Education & Exploration
"And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him? . . . So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ." —Romans 10:14, 17
From its beginnings, the Christian Church has been a teaching and learning community. The first followers of Jesus called him “Teacher,” and then they traveled across cultures and nations sharing the teachings of Christ with others.
Today, at First Congregational Church of Stamford, we seek to proclaim the good news of God’s grace in different ways that are meaningful to people’s lives at all ages. For what people know can change how they understand, make sense of, and live their lives.
FCC Stamford actively provides opportunities for both teaching and learning. We are teachers and students of one another as we share our knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Through our education and exploration programs, we question, reflect on, and share with one another the many ways in which the Spirit of God is still relevant and still revealing.
We offer education and exploration programs for people of all ages. Children’s Church School, Spiritual Journeys, Young Adult Bible Study, Small Groups, Church Library, and Retreats are some of the ways we teach and learn more about the good news of God’s unconditional love and grace. As we teach and learn together, we also become better equipped to live and share this timeless message and make a real difference in people’s lives. |
