Response Center for Children
Service to others and community involvement are important in our Church, and we teach our children to embrace these values. Service opportunities for preschool and elementary school children (ages 3-11) in both our local and broader communities include the following:
- Organizing boxed (“White Dove”) Christmas meals for Person to Person
- Collecting for UNICEF
- Preparing lunch and then serving those in need at New Covenant House of Hospitality
- Participating in the Heifer International program
- Donating toys at Christmas to local charities
- Collecting school supplies and personal health kits for Church World Service
FCC Stamford provides many opportunities for growth as well as fun and interesting events for children throughout the year. Some of our events include the following:
- Halloween party with contests, prizes, and surprises
- Talent show, where children can perform on our very own stage
- Traditional craft festivals at both Christmas and Easter
- Christmas pageant
- Easter egg hunt
- Ukrainian egg decorating on Good Friday
- Sleep-over nights in the Church, with pizza and movies
- Two reading programs sponsored by our Church Library
- Car washes, bake sales, and more
