First Congregational Church of Stamford is centrally located in downtown Stamford, CT, and is affiliated with the United Church of Christ. While the church has a rich heritage as the oldest congregation in Connecticut, it is now actively seeking to reposition itself to serve the needs of a community whose demographics have changed dramatically within the past fifty years. While traditionally serving a White, middle-class population, the church now seeks to broaden its areas of ministry to build an inclusive community that reflects the racial and economic diversity of the surrounding community.
