Volunteer and Outreach Opportunities
"Each one of us should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms" —1 Peter 4:10.
Volunteerism is at the very heart of who we are at First Congregational Church of Stamford, and there are several ways to volunteer in the church. Here is a list of a few opportunities that might be to your liking:
• Ushers. Sociable? Amiable? Like people? Then we need you to greet worshipers before service, hand out programs, and collect the offerings during the worship service.
• Hospitality Hour. If you like to host a gathering, then this is an excellent way to serve your fellow church congregants after the 10:30 am service.
• New Covenant House of Hospitality. The last Sunday of each month, members and friends of our church cook and deliver lunch to those in need. We can always use help in the kitchen!
• Person-to-Person and Pilgrim Towers. Each month, our church delivers canned goods to these organizations, and we need volunteers to assist.
• Rebuilding Together Fairfield County. April 24, 2010, is the date our church will be rehabilitating a home in our community. If you’re handy with a hammer, we want you!
• Friendship Fair. Don’t have plans for Saturday, November 20, 2010? Then donate your time and energy to this wonderful annual fair that benefits the church. |
